These figures were published each evening by The Guardian from a tally compiled by Johns Hopkins university. This is an Excel spreadsheet that includes calculations for increase in total cases for the day and percentage increase of new cases.Note that the case total is an undercount due to testing inadequacy and an inability to count asymptomatic virus carriers. The numbers also are fail to discount the number of recoveries and deaths from the total — that is, it is a count for TOTAL CONFIRMED CASES, not TOTAL ACTIVE CASES.Data entry by Tim Davenport ("Carrite").
