Description

This paper attempts to assess the speech ability of the grade 10 students in Jose Sanvictores Sr. National School in Cagwait, Surigao del Sur. It uses random sampling which identifies 70 respondents. This study used descriptive - correlational method in order to determine the level of speech ability of Grade 10 students. The study dealt with the following objectives to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of gender, language facility, parent's educational attainment, media preference, communication practice, use of English and media preference to identify the level of oral language proficiency as to grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and fluency and to assess the significant relationship between the profile of the participants and the level of speech ability.
