You've chosen on your own accord to break the rules of your society for perhaps little more than an adrenaline rush. You've chosen to enter the shadows... I congratulate you on conquering one of the hardest obstacles man has ever known - the fear of authority. Your liberation, however, is one of short celebration, because the obstacle course has just begun. The way of the shadow is a harsh one. Failure can mean the loss of your possessions, the loss of your freedom, even the loss of your life. You must have your reasons to step into the darkness, and I will not try to stop you, for I too enter the night regularly now. It is human nature to explore and conquer the unknown; there should be neither shame nor fear of it. Perhaps you wish to gain wealth by theft, knowledge by recon, or even the death of an enemy. Maybe you are being paid to kill or gather intelligence, maybe you simply wish to experience the thrill of the unknown. This guide has been written to get you where you need, regardless of your reasons. The procedures described in this text have been created to guide you safely through the night and guide you back out. It is a compilation of my personal experiences, other operatives' experiences, written knowledge, written operative experiences and even some experimental methods you may have an interest in.
