House Oversight Committee - U.S. Aid to Pakistan: Planning and Accountability - House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. On Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., in room 2154 Rayburn House Office Building, the Subcommittee will hold an oversight hearing entitled, "U.S. Aid to Pakistan: Planning and Accountability." Witnesses will be by invitation only. This hearing will examine the state of U.S. economic and development assistance to Pakistan, particularly in light of the passage of the Kerry-Lugar-Berman legislation. This hearing will also explore the effectiveness of current U.S. aid programs in Pakistan and whether adequate oversight mechanisms exist in order to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse of these funds.
