Pulak Dutta is former teacher of Kala Bhavana, a school of fine arts in Visva Bharati, Santiniketan. Before coming to Kala Bhavana, for a long time, he also taught at Patha Bhavana, Santiniketan and The Valley School, KFI in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Mr. Dutta is a learned scholar and regularly writes on fields like education, music, fine arts, culture and society.In this book he discusses about a decaying age-old traditional music form called "Kirtan" and problematizes modernity.
