Offering Flight of the Amazon Queen as evidence, Interactive Binary Illusions demonstrated that Lucasarts and Adventuresoft weren't the only game developers capable of producing immersive, witty and beautifully illustrated point and click adventures. Released in 1995, several years after most of the titles in this genre we'd consider classics, Flight of the Amazon Queen is temporally poised to plant astute allusions to pop-culture we know and love, and serendipitously, also learn from some of the mistakes its forerunners made along the way.
