Description

1st Set of Quadrilles, with their proper figures in French & English, performed by Paine's Band, &c, and danced at Almacks, The Argyll Rooms, and all The Nobilities Balls. Arranged for the Piano Forte or Harp. This quadrille set is a copy (whether authorised or not I don't know) of two sets of early English Quadrille publications; James Paine's 1816 1st Set of Quadrilles and Edward Payne's c.1815 1st Set of Quadrilles. This version was published by Chappell & Co, probably in mid 1816. By combining the rival tunes from both of the popular "First Set" publications it would have been a useful publication.
